NorCal Juniors teams are designed to give young girls an opportunity to get introduced to club volleyball at a young age, for a lower price, and have a shorter season. These teams are strictly for player development and for that reason, modified rules are used at tournaments and playing time is not decided based on performance. The skill development of each player at a young age, in a low intensity environment, is the ultimate goal of these teams.
NorCal Juniors teams will be for 3rd graders – 6th graders. The season will be from the first week in January through the last tournament in May (currently scheduled for May 13-14).
Our NorCal Juniors teams are “sign up to play,” therefore no tryout is required although we will be building teams based on age and skill level this year. We anticipate having 4-6 teams for the 2023 season.
Each NorCal Juniors team will practice once a week either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 4:15-5:45pm at the NorCal Facility.
Each team will also have one team practice on the weekends (F-Sun) for an average of 6 practices per month.
Specific practice days will be assigned based on grade and skill. Our top 5/6th grade team will practice on Wednesdays and our top 3/4th grade team will practice on Tuesdays. All other teams will be assigned a practice day M-TH from 4:15-5:30pm.
Upon registration we will ask if there are any days that WILL NOT work for your daughters schedule. We will do our best to accommodate those schedules, but it is not guaranteed.
NorCal Juniors season is a WCVBA sponsored event. Most all of the tournaments will take place at the NorCal Volleyball Facility in Livermore, but 1 or 2 may take place at City Beach in Fremont. The anticipated schedule is:
