Below is a list of the 2012 Head and Assistant Coaches for NorCal Volleyball Club. Additional coaches will be assigned in the next few days. Coaching assignments are always subject to change. Coaching bios will be added shortly.

This will be Harrison's 2nd year returning to NorCal after coaching the 16 Blue team in 2006. Last season he coached the NorCal 18 Blue team and was awarded the 2011 NorCal Coach of the Year. In 5 out of the 6 years of coaching club his team has finished in the top 20 of NCVA every season. He has coached at the 16's, 17's, and 18s levels. Harrison has been the Varsity Assistant and JV Head Coach at Carondelet since 2005. He has also been the Miramonte boy's Head Coach since 2005 as well. Harrison played collegiately at Los Medanos J.C. and Holy Names University. He is currently a Volunteer Assistant coach for the HNU men's team. As a player at Miramonte High, Harrison was part of a NCS runner-up team, and 1st team all league selection twice.

Lindsay Fogarty is entering her 2nd year of coaching with NorCal. Last year, she assisted the 15 Black team, which qualified for Junior Nationals. She graduated from Amador Valley High School in 2006, where she played volleyball for 3 years. During that time, she played for Norcal 16 Black and 18 Black, and had an amazing experience on both teams. She continued her volleyball career at the University of New Hampshire, where she was a 4 year starter as a middle blocker. She was voted to the America East All-Rookie team her freshman season, and was an America East First Team All Conference selection her junior and senior seasons. Senior year she made the transition to outside hitter, and was voted her team's MVP. Lindsay graduated with a degree in Communications in 2010 and returned to the Bay Area, where she helped coach the varsity team at Amador Valley. She now works as the office manager for Fantasy Sound Event Services, which is a wedding planning company in Livermore.

Dwight will be entering his second season with NorCal Volleyball Club. Last season he coached our 17 Blue team. Dwight is currently The Head Men’s And Women’s Volleyball Coach at Holy Names University in Oakland, CA. A Graduate of CSU, Sacramento, he holds a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. A certified personal trainer, Dwight specializes in volleyball specific training. Coach Combs has 12 years of collegiate coaching and club experience. Prior to coming to Holy Names in 2008, Dwight was the Head Men’s and Women’s coach at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, CA. During his tenure at LMC Coach Combs won 3 conference titles, one with the women and 2 with the men’s
program. During his time at Los Medanos College, Dwight acted as Director and Head Coach for East Bay Jrs., where two of his teams qualified for Junior Olympics.
Coach Combs lives in Walnut Creek, CA and is a native of the East Bay. Still an avid doubles player, Dwight played indoor volleyball at Antioch High School, Los Medanos College, and CSU, Sacramento, participating in championship seasons at all three schools.
Dwight’s life passion is volleyball; playing, teaching, and learning. Dwight is excited to be a coach at NorCal Volleyball Club and be a part of an organization that cares about the integrity of the sport and their
players.

Devon Farrell is in her first year coaching with NorCal Volleyball Club. She graduated from Campolindo High School in 2006 after playing four years for Scott Bishop, and finishing her prep club career with NorCal’s 18 Black under the direction of Sam Crosson. After high school, Devon was recruited to play for the University of Connecticut where they went to four consecutive Big East tournaments. After graduating from UConn in 2010, she worked the St, Mary’s volleyball camps as a skills coach and then pursued her passion for volleyball overseas, playing for S.S. Cuore in Reggio Calabria, Italy. A shoulder injury cut her time abroad short and Devon had to return home mid-season for surgery. Now back on the court, she is playing recreational volleyball and is currently working for the retail marketing team at Levi Strauss & Co. She plans to pursue her multiple subject teaching credential in Spring 2012.

Keegan Cook has been coaching for NorCal Volleyball Club for the last 8 years. Cook has coached at the 13s, 15, 16s, and 18s level. All of Cook's teams qualified for the Junior Olympic Championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 . He guided his 2011 16s NorCal team to a 5th place finish at Junior Nations in the National Division and his 2008 16’s NorCal team to the 16 and Under National Junior Olympic Championship gold medal. The gold medal was a first for the NorCal Volleyball Club.
Keegan Cook begins his sixth year as a full-time assistant coach for the Gaels and his seventh with the Saint Mary's Volleyball program. Promoted to the position of top assistant in April of 2010, he shares in all of the program's coaching responsibilities.
In 2009, Cook helped guide Saint Mary's to its second consecutive 20-win season as the Gaels posted the second-best record in program history at 23-5. Saint Mary's logged a perfect 13-0 mark at home and set new school records with an 11-match winning streak and a 13-1 record in West Coast Conference matches to net the program's first-ever WCC title. Saint Mary's made its fifth appearance in the NCAA tournament and nearly took out Pac-10 champion Stanford in the second round.
Before Join Saint Mary's, Cook coached varsity women’s volleyball in 2004 and 2005 and freshman volleyball in 2003 at Acalanes High School in Lafayette. Going along with his coaching experience, Keegan was also a VIS supervisor for the youth NORCECA Championships in 2006 and for the World League Competitions in 2007 where he recorded the official statistics for the FIVB. Before coaching Keegan was a player at Foothill High School and the Saint Mary’s Mens Club team where he was named to the first team in the Northern California Volleyball League in 2006 and 2007. Cook graduated from Saint Mary’s in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a minor in religious studies.

Steven Menegus is entering his 6th year with NorCal and 3rd with the 17s. He was previously an assistant for the 18s and 15s and head coach for the 14s. He has served as a volunteer assistant for both Saint Mary’s College and Cal University. Steven just completed his master's at Saint Mary’s College where he also played for the Men’s Club Volleyball Team. He is primarily an outside hitter, but has played Middle Blocker in the past as well as contributing at every other position. He is also very passionate about strength and conditioning, especially within the sport of volleyball. He was the Head Varsity coach for Castro Valley High in 2010 and is currently an outside hitter for the deaf national team, which will be going to Brazil in fall of 2011.

Morgan Kordic is in her sixth year coaching with NorCal. In her past 5 years as an assistant at NorCal all of her teams have qualified for Junior Nationals including last years 16 Black team that qualified in the American division and finished 5th. Kordic grew up in San Ramon where she attended California High School and played three years of Varsity Volleyball. She also played for NorCal Volleyball Club. She recently graduated from San Jose State with a BS in Kinesiology.

Brent Crouch is entering his second year of coaching with NorCal after leading 18 Black to a National division bid at Junior Nationals in 2011. Before coming to NorCal Volleyball Club, Brent coached club for the past 5 years with the Encinitas Wave, Dallas Skyline Juniors and Webfoot Juniors at the 14's through 18's levels. The past 5 years, he has qualified each of his teams to Junior Nationals (4 of 5 in the Open Division) and led his Encinitas Wave teams to three consecutive top 10 Open finishes, including a bronze medal in 2008. His 16's Wave team won the Spokane Qualifier in 2007 and as 17's won the SoCal Qualifier in 2008. In 2010, his 14's Skyline team qualified for Open with a second place finish at the Lone Star Qualifier. In addition to coaching club, Brent coached the University of Oregon Men's Club Team in 2004-5, and the San Diego City College Men's Team from 2006-2008. Brent also led the La Costa Canyon freshman girls team to an undefeated season in 2005 and assisted on two consecutive CIF championship LCC varsity seasons from 2005-6. Currently, Brent is an assistant coach with the Saint Mary's College Women's Volleyball Team. In addition to coaching, Brent is also a Lecturer in the Seminar Program at SMC and has taught college courses for the past 11 years. After earning a BA and MA in history and philosophy from Texas A&M University in 1998/2000, Brent graduated with a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Oregon in 2006. Brent's played for the Texas A&M Men's Club Team from 1993-1997 and competed on the AVP Qualifier Tour in 1997-1998 and 2005-2007.

Susan Forbes is in her second year coaching for NorCal and just completed her third season as the head coach at Mills College. Susan played volleyball in college at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA and helped guide her team to three NCAA tournament appearances. While at UOP Susan played as an opposite hitter, but also gained experience in the Middle Blocker and Outside Hitter positions. In her senior year Susan was named ‘co-captain’ and voted ‘most inspirational’. Susan graduated from UOP with a degree in Sports Management in 2006, and went on to earn her master’s degree in Educational Administration & Leadership with an emphasis in Student Affairs in 2009. Susan’s first coaching experience was as the head coach for Mile High Volleyball club 14’s team in 2002. A socal native, Susan was born and raised in Lake Arrowhead, Ca, and played club volleyball at Rancho Valley VBC. This past club season she assisted with the NorCal18 black team that qualified for the 2011 Junior Nationals at the National Club division. Susan currently resides in East Bay Area with her husband, Joe.

Jay Felch is entering his 9th year with NorCal Volleyball Club. He has been coaching volleyball since 1999 and youth sports since 1991. In 2009 he took his 14s team to JO’s in the National division. He is IMPACT and Gold Medal Squared certified. In addition to coaching a team for NorCal, Jay also organizes the NorCal Doubles program, coaches Fall Ball, and provides private instruction. In 2011 he became a member of the NorCal board of directors. Felch believes that through coaching volleyball, you teach life lessons and that the journey, not the destination, is what’s important. He likes to share his love of volleyball and promote volleyball as a game to be played and enjoyed for a lifetime.

Robin is in her third year coaching with NorCal Volleyball Club after coaching one year at Altamont Volleyball Club. She played high school in L.A. and San Diego. She continued her career at Glendale C.C. and San Diego Mesa college. She then played on scholarship at Florida International University. After college, Robin played on the WPVA from 1989-92. This is her fourth year of coaching high school girls' freshmen volleyball (one year at Livermore and three at Foothill).

Jeff Cole is in his 9th year coaching with NorCal Volleyball Club. Jeff attended UCSB where he learned to play doubles volleyball with members of the Men’s team. He earned a Masters degree in Geophysics from Stanford and works for Chevron in San Ramon. He has played doubles volleyball continuously for 33 years. He has taken his NorCal 13s, 14s, & 15s teams to the Junior (Olympic) National tournament each of the past 6 years. Jeff has coached Freshman and JV Girls and Freshman Boys at San Ramon Valley high school. He also works at the NorCal Volleyball Facility each summer providing doubles lessons, private lessons, and clinics. He also organized the NorCal Fall Ball program designed for pre-high school aged players to play volleyball in a 10-week long practice season. Kathy Higbee is in her third year with NorCal Volleyball Club. The last two years, she coached the 14 Black and13 Black teams that earned a bid to Junior Nationals. She graduated from Campolindo High School where she played for NorCal's own Fred Stickney. After high school Kathy played her collegiate career at Brigham Young University, under Coach Carl McGown, where they were ranked every year in the top 10 and as high as #1 in the country. Upon returning to the Bay Area she helped coach at Campolindo when they went to the state finals. Kathy also coached for two years at Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon. She is a substitute teacher in San Ramon for middle school and high school. Kathy lives in San Ramon with her husband, Cory, and 4 children.

Kristen Kathan- Assistant Coach 15 Black
Kristen will be entering her first year as a coach with NorCal Volleyball Club. As a senior in high school, Kristen Kathan was named Contra Costa Times Player of the Year, Cal-Hi Sports Player of the Year, Sports Focus Player of the Year, Diablo Foothill Athletic League MVP and a PrepVolleyball.com High School All-American. She received DFAL MVP and the Cal-Hi Sports Player of the Year honors as a junior. In club, her team placed fifth in the nation in 2005 Junior Olympics Open Division and also won a bronze medal at the 2003 Junior Olympics Open Division competing as a starting outside hitter. She continued her career at UC Berkeley where she entered the program as a non-scholarship defensive specialist. By her sophomore year, she was awarded a full scholarship and earned the starting libero position. That same year she helped her team make it to the Final Four championships for the first time in Cal History and was named Senior Team Captain. In 2008 and 2009 she was awarded All-American Academic Honorable Mention Award as well as the Cal Student Athlete Academic Recognition. Kristen spent two seasons at Cal coaching club volleyball and also spent the summer of 2010 coaching with All American Volleyball Camps. She currently is the West Coast Sponsor Services Coordinator for IMG, focusing on college sports marketing.

Ernie Rodriguez is in his 5th year coaching with NorCal Volleyball Club. Ernie played club volleyball for the University of Arizona. He started coaching in ‘96 as an assistant coach for Solano Community College. He spent one year as the head Coach for CS Maritime Academy in Vallejo. He previously coached one season at Tennyson High School, was the Co-Head Coach for Castro Valley High School, and is now the head JV coach and assistant varsity coach at Cal High.

Shari Rodriguez is in her 5th year coaching with NorCal Volleyball Club. Shari played volleyball at Cal State Hayward for two years following her career at Napa Community College. Shari has been coaching for the past twenty years, starting at the high school level, moving on to Solano College for four years, Castro Valley the past ten, and now serving as the head frosh coach and assistant varsity coach at Cal High.


Kevin McColloch is in his first year with NorCal Volleyball Club. Before coming to NorCal, Kevin coached at WAVE Volleyball Club from 2007-2011. He was involved with both the older, elite girls teams (as a Head Coach for three years and as an Assistant Coach for two years) as well as highly involved in the youth developmental program for boys volleyball (grades 4-7). Before coaching, Kevin played at La Costa Canyon High School and then continued his career playing for two years at Palomar College. He earned all-conference honors in 2005 and moved on to Holy Names University. At Holy Names he played another two years and was named team captain for both campaigns. He also served as a Student Life Facilitator at HNU in 2007. McColloch spent the 2008 winter playing professionally at Asse-Lennik in Zelik, Belgium. In spring of that year McColloch tackled the AVP pro beach tour, and he finished the 2009 season as the 25th top-ranked team and was named Rookie of the Year. In 2010 he was ranked in the top 15 and in 2011 he was ranked in the top 10.

Alaynah Fiedler is in her fourth year coaching at Norcal Volleyball Club. Last year she was the head coach for our 12-A area team. In the past, she has been the head coach for the 12 black team as well as assisted 16 blue. She has coached summer camps at NorCal and Saint Mary's College, as well as coordinated the first Fall Ball Elementary program this year. Before coaching, Alaynah played at NorCal where she was a bronze medalist at JOs on her 18 Black team in 2008. Alaynah also attended and played at Foothill High School. After high school, she went on to play at Golden West College. During college, she played opposite but she also played the Outside Hitter position. After a semester at Golden West College, Alaynah decided to come back up to the Bay Area and attend UC Berkeley. She will be graduating in December.

Brian is entering his second year coaching for NorCal. Last year, in his first year with the club, he coached the 14 Blue team. Brian is the JV girls head coach at Foothill High School as a well as the varsity assistant coach, working under Dusty Collins. Along with coaching for the girls program, he has also coached 7 years for the Foothill High School boys team. All 7 years as a varsity assistant coach and 6 years as the head coach for the JV boys team. Brian has coached at summer camps and individual skill clinics for NorCal and summer camps for Foothill High School. He also gives private lessons during the off season at the NorCal facility. While attending UC Davis Brian played for the Men's team from 1997-2001, playing middle blocker, right side hitter and setter. Since his college days Brian has developed a passion for outdoor volleyball and still actively plays in doubles tournaments during the summer.

Colleen Boston is in her 2nd year coaching with NorCal Volleyball club. Colleen has been coaching club for seven years and has coached the 15’s-18’s age group. She is looking forward and very excited to be coaching 14’s this year. Colleen grew up in Oakland and attended Bishop O’Dowd High School. From there she went on to play at Holy Names University where she was selected to the all conference team all four years. She graduated with a degree in Liberal Studies and is currently receiving her Masters in Education.

Sara Bungarz is in her 5th year coaching with NorCal Volleyball club. Sara has coached the 11's-13's age group the past 5 years, and has loved every second of it! Sara grew up in Castro Valley and attended Moreau Catholic High School. After graduating, Sara played 2 years at Chabot College where she was selected to the all conference team both years. Sara continued on to play volleyball at Menlo College in Atherton, CA. Sara coached CYO volleyball for Our Lady of Grace School for 10 years and is very happy to be a part of the NorCal Family. Sara also coaches NorCal's Fall Ball, various clinics throughout the offseason and does private lessons year round.

Katie is returning to NorCal Volleyballl Club after taking a year off. Previously she was the head coach of the 14's Blue team. Katie is from Castro Valley where she played 3 years as the starting setter for the varsity team at Castro Valley High School. She was named First Team All-League all 3 years. After high school she went to Chabot college to continue her playing career. Her sophomore year she was named All-Tournament Player at the Yuba Invitational Tournament and First Team All-Conference Player. Katie transfered to Bethany University, a private school in the Santa Cruz mountains, where she was named All-Conference 2nd Team and Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athlete. After graduating in 2008, Katie attended CSU East Bay to obtain a Masters Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology. While finishing her Masters, Katie was the assistant coach for Chabot Community College from the 2008 season to the 2010 season. She is currently working at Neurosport Rehabilitation as a physical therapist aide and coaching the varsity volleyball team at Castro Valley High School.

This will be Hayley's first season with NorCal. She played collegiately at the University of the Pacific as a setter. She was a four year letter winner. As a senior, Hayley was first team all conference and currently holds the 2nd best mark in school history for career assists. While at Pacific, Hayley coached two seasons for Club Pacific before returning to the Bay Area. Hayley spent the past six years working for a public accounting firm in San Francisco and teaching private lessons in her spare time. She lives in Livermore with her husband, Adam, and new baby, Zoey.

Stacy has been engulfed in the volleyball world for over a decade, starting at Mendenhall Middle School. After working her way up to Granada High School she played 3 ½ years of varsity volleyball. In the school off season Stacy played 5 years with Tri-Valley Volleyball Club. After high school she was an assistant coach at NorCal Volleyball Club for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. She went away to college at Chico State University and played for the Chico State Club Volleyball team for the 2007 and 2008 club seasons. After returning to the Bay Area she was fortunate enough to come back to NorCal and be an assistant coach for the 12 black team for the 2010 season, where after she received the Assistant Coach of the Year Award. Stacy is trained in the Gold Medal Squared methods and techniques that NorCal teaches. She considers herself extremely lucky to not only be able to coach the sport she loves, but also to coach for such an amazing club!

Lindsey Herbert is in her third season coaching at Norcal Volleyball Club. She coached the 11's area team for the past two years at Norcal. Before coaching, Lindsey played for Norcal Volleyball Club for five years, helping her team win the No Dinx Far Western National Qualifier in 2009 and competing in the Junior Olympics twice. She has coached Middle School Volleyball and played Varsity Volleyball for three years at Granada High School in Livermore.

Paul is returning for his fourth season with NorCal, the past three as an Area team head coach. Along with NorCal, Paul has coached ten seasons of volleyball for the Pleasanton Unified School District (where he is also a Physical Education teacher) for students in 6th through 11th grades. This year he will be focusing his coaching solely on NorCal and his son's little league baseball team. Paul's philosophy as an Area league coach is that development, fun, and an overall great experience for the player are
far more important than winning.

Katy Wynn is in her second year coaching a team at NorCal Volleyball Club. She was the assistant coach for the 12 black team last season. Before that, her previous experience includes assisting at clinics, being a coach during NorCal Fall Ball, and offering private lessons. Katy played club for 5 seasons with LaMorinda and Players NorCal (former names for NorCal Volleyball Club) and played varsity volleyball at San Ramon Valley High for 2 years.


Linda returns to NorCal for her second season. She comes to the club with over 17 years of coaching experience at the high school level. She has led her teams to 10 North Coast Section appearances and 3 section championships. She has been awarded Coach of the Year and North Coast Section Honor Coach. Linda thoroughly enjoys coaching. She particularly enjoys the challenge of developing players and turning programs around from subpar status to league and section contenders. Linda is married and the mother of 3 girls. She looks forward to working with all NorCal players this season as the Roving Coach.
